Healthcare Solution – a FileMaker cancer research application
Mayo Clinic, a large healthcare provider wanted a way to gather and analyze clinical and research test data to better manage and study cancer patients and their test results, in their on-going efforts to cure cancer. They were using disjointed systems, pen and paper; and lots of Excel and other flat files. They didn’t have a way to gather information in a central data warehouse, or an easy way to analyze this information. They didn’t have a way of querying the data.
They asked WorqSmart to work closely with multiple department leaders to design and build an application to simplify, automate, streamline and reinvent their processes; to build an application that would easily gather the information needed to build reports and tools to help them analyze their progress, fix their problems, and better predict their future. Accept data from various sources and manually and be able to query sanf report. Data base that mimics the actual sTissue array three dimentional array block structure representing a block of slides cross sections.
Because FileMaker is a respected, flexible, versatile, and forgiving rapid development tool, they asked us to build a working prototype to prove and solve their problem using FileMaker 8.5. The success of this project resulted in being asked to use Servoy to build a front-end application and web site connecting to a MSSQL backend database.
Our solution gave them the ability to make quick data driven decisions that improved the health, stability, reliability, and longevity of their fleet. These data driven decisions also resulted in reducing costs, improving parts, and improving productivity. They are much more informed and in control of the health of their fleet, including the ability to more accurately predict and plan for the future.
